Then on Wednesday a crew started to remove anything that could be salvaged or recycled to reduce the material sent to the landfill. They removed all the metal in the cottage such as ductwork, copper piping, aluminum soffit and fascia, copper wiring, windows, etc.
On Thursday the guys started removing the drywall and siding.
Once the siding and drywall on the upper floor was all gone, Jon attached a chain to the roof and using his truck, he pulled the roof and the entire second floor structure down to the ground
Then Jon, Tyler, and Jake began taking the roof apart using sledge hammers and saw-alls.
By Friday afternoon two large bins had been filled and most of the roof and second floor were gone.
Next week will see the completion of the demolition and the beginning of the excavation and framing of the footings for the new cottage.
Hopefully all the old memories have been packed away because the process of Building the New Dreams will begin
